S&C content not working... despite S&C being installed!

Learning... slowly!
I've installed the S&C pack on my pc- both as an add-on to TS12 and a standalone game (Got confused; did both to be safe). I then downloaded some extra content from the S&C/TC3 websites, but quite a lot of the content is showing that it has unknown dependencies.

For example, the Class 45 is struggling with kuid44090:93 and 44090:94 (from the bogies).

Loads of the coaches seem to have problems despite having full sets of maroon and blue/grey coaches built-in.

The class 5MT isn't working either.

It's a bizarre problem really- I'm used to them being missing, but instead it's showing as 'unknown'.

Any suggestions?

If you happen to have TS12 SP1 installed, you will find that it should download all the required parts in-game. Was this the case for your version (or are you on build 49922 or lower)?

Shane

P.S. It may also be worth doing an extended database repair.

I'm still on the last build before SP1. I've just set an extended database repair going now. When I posted before I was going purely off what CMP was telling me, when I actually opened the game all my coaching stock has stopped working and so has a great deal of other stuff. We'll see what this repair does. If not, I think I'll try and persuade it to do the SP1 update overnight.

Thanks Shane!

Database repair did absolutely nothing. They're actually all appearing under the 'missing dependencies' tab, but when I click 'view dependencies' on any given asset it tells me none are missing, just a few not recognised. Shall I just try and update?

I have registered the S&C pack both on here and in the game options. For some reason it doesn't appear on here.

Thanks again for your help Shane. You deserve a medal.

From memory, there was someone else who had this happen recently. I will see if I can find the relevant thread.

Shane

EDIT: Another thought - try right-clicking the asset(s) and see if View Errors and Warnings is available. If it is, click it, as it may help rectify the issue.

View errors and warnings is available for some- it has a creatively wide range of different excuses as to why the content isn't working! I'll see if I can get some screengrabs :)

Okay, so, a lot of dependecies are unknown on things like the 5MT, as well as the warnings 'Tag 'bluestar_coupler' in the container 'traincar' is obsolete' and the same again but with bluestar_brake.

On the coaches, those that show errors and warnings have the classic 'obsolete trainz build number' warning, plus
(x) The Tag 'height180' is not permitted within a container type of '0'
(x) The Tag 'width240' is not permitted within a container type of '0'
(!) Required tag 'height' was missing and has been set to default.
(!) Required tag 'width' was missing and has been set to default.

As I've said though, this is only some of the coaches, and yet none work. I'm quite baffled.

Edit: Just re-read your last post. How would viewing the errors and warnings clear the missing dependencies tags, please?

You've installed TC3 updates without having TC3 installed so you are missing the builtin assets. You don't need the TC3 updates though as they are all included with the SnC add on.

Hi

I've come across this before. The ones marked with an x require spaces adding between the word height and the following number.

@PaulHobbs- so I need TC3 as well as the S&C pack to make it all work? Why has the new content stopped my built-in content working?

@ Brian, cheers, I'll have a look at that!

No, you don't need TC3 and the assets won't work anyway. That's the reason there is a SnC addon pack in the first place - to bring the TC3 assets up to TS2009 standards. Having said that doing what you've done shouldn't stop the SnC assets from working, you'll just have a load of faulty duplicate assets you can't use. I'd delete all faulty non-built ins for a start to try and fix things.

Paul

Cheers. I've tried to delete everything I installed but some of them are now showing as 'built-in' content so I can't delete it. Am I best to just uninstall the whole lot and start again?

The Fowler 3F in MR Red, plus two of the 9Fs are showing up as faulty. The rest are appearing in the 'Missing dependencies' tab. It's so weird.

However the Stanier 4000 Gal tender for the 8F is showing up in that tab too, but that one works.

Hopefully that will resolve the problem. You may need to remove any updates from the TC3 site you've installed if you haven't already.
