Rusty Trains(z)-- Do the exist?

There are some nice Polish steam locos made by lookseek on the DLS. They are 20th century and made in new, weathered, and totally rusty versions.

Locomotive PKP Ty2-64 kuid:341856:100247 and its matching tender podw Ty2-64 tender kuid:341856:100237 is a particularly good example.

Here it is on one of my old routes.

If you head over to Paulz Trains, he will gladly make his engines very heavily weathered to the point where they look like they have rust on them, he also has a couple of British Scrap engines (he hasn't made any USA ones yet) but you will have to purchase his stuff and then request what you want the engine to look like.

I might just end up doing that because for video making it will really suit my needs.

I made 2 rustbuckets but they're not very good.

Try darkening the red and mix in some light grey. It is a trial and error process.

Locomotives with perfect rust do not look good. The PKP Ty2-64 kuid:341856:100247 mentioned above is a proper rust appearance.

Scrap E2... I like how realistic the rust textures look on the E2. It looks really old & really rusty. (on DLS).
