Running a railroad - how to get started - suggestions

JR stuff is really good. But, it is the old TANE era. You can easily use them in TRS19 since the functionality is the same, just the physical stuff is weird. But, with patience you can simply substitute the TRS19 assets for the TANE stuff. No big performance hit and no wallet hit if you use their high quality free routes. I completely converted Coal Country and the Monongahela routes (both $$) to TRS19. I also took the free PA Berwind route to TRS19. In fact that one deserves another look. It had some track issues but I need to recheck that. Download, run the free JR routes to see if they are worth converting for your particular needs. Then, if you find your gem, it may be worth scraping the bottom of the piggy bank to get that one. If you like it as a TANE route in TRS19 then it may be your winner. Back to the weird signaling thing on Coastal New England. Also, hint - only "decorate" what you can see from a train. That village on the other side of a mountain adds nothing but a performance load. Evaluate your work from ground level.

Doh.... Palm of my hand is slapping my forehead... I have a JR route.... "Legacy of BN v2" that I obtained thru my Silver membership....

Hold your cash for a little longer. You already got the Content Vault to work with. LoBN is a great one! Get for free as well the Penn & Berwind off JR. http://jointedrail.com/product/pennsylvania-berwind/ It's free, grab the deps below it too. Great one for many switching ops, and some mainline running. Greatly detailed! Easy to asset replace too quickly for some 19 features if you want.

Don't splurge on a T:ANE JR route off their site, especially not at full price, hold til 19 route comes out. Apparently some are very close. But when one does, I would snatch it up ASAP as I know I will.
