Roy almost killed by giant killerbees

Hi Roy! I'm glad to see that you are doing okay. :) Hope to see some more great shots of yours in the Screenshot of the Week contest in the future!

And to think that I am afraid of the wasps/hornets that love to build nests on the house, and even the bumblebees on the flowers. Looks like you were hit bad!

Regards,

Retro.

Ning, as rough as this has been for Roy, I'm sure that you've been through a nightmare also. Our prayers are with you also. We're so glad that you still have him by your side.

Hornets scare the life out of me, I saw one in Florida a couple of years ago, they are big and they are very noisy, you cannot say you cannot hear them. I am so glad they don't live in the UK, they come here sometimes, mostly in the South of the UK but not that often as they get eaten by the birds and other wildlife here.

We have smaller versions of hornets called wasps, they can be little horrors, but they very rarely attack in numbers, they get cheesed off at the slightest thing, and then just sting for the fun of it.

I understand that we need wasps, as they eat all the bugs on the flowers which can be harmful to bees.

We have the other type of wasp in the UK, it is a public menace, also known as the traffic warden, these are quick little bleeders who are dressed like wasps, who like to sting all the money out of you.

I hope Roy is ok and recovers quickly, I think he will look at a hornet in the future and run the other way, like I did in Florida.

thanks buddy!
We live here in the middle of the rice fields at the foot of the mountains and the village nearest house is 4 km so wildlife in abundance.
We have insects, snakes common and cobra's (many rocks) beautiful birds, trees, flowers, rice fields, mountains and nice weather especially in the winter (7-8 month) and lots of water.
So what can one more ask for than living in such a nice place with unlocked doors and open windows 3 lab dogs and a muntjac deer with deadly razor sharp tusks!and antlers can rip you apart worse than a pittbull...

:hehe: :hehe:

Roy;)

Hi Ron

Ning,

Thank you for taking the time to keep everyone updated. You need to get some rest also.

Good to hear that Roy is getting better.

Both of you in my prayers.

Regards,
Ron

Ning did and still does well and a great job every day.

Back on track

thanks Dean05

How terrible, hope you have a speedy recovery.
I really can't stand wasps/hornets, I despise them. The most pointless creature on this planet. I have a large can of "Raid Wasp Killer" on my patio table at all times from Spring to Autumn.

thanks for the wishes and it helped

Morning Dean

I only read about this today. It must have been terrifying. I hope you have a good hospital there in Kalasin.

Chok dee Khrap.

~ Deane

chock dee it was Dean but an old fart is sometimes stronger than thought.
thanks for the well wishes and hmmm good hospitals the nearest is 700 km.
the other ones are good and average but most important all nice nurses which helps recover fast. Only blood pressure is a different issue but mai pen rai.
look at google earth and search for
Nong Phue, kalasin, thailand
2 km east of it at the foot of the mountains we put some picts old ones now of our little paradise

the nearest village/town is 10 km Khao Wong ( means Mountains around valley) and they have a hospital for local people not bad but for little things. Roy-et is the nearest town 90 km with better facilities.

To end with i go for the nurses rather than the 700 km to Bangkok Hospital in PAttaya(very well like hotel and good team)

have a great day swa dee djaa

I do not know him. But wish him a full recovery. That is one insect I have fear of a bee. There stings are so painful. I would not want to imagine a whole hive attacking somebody serious ouch. Extremely lucky surviving it too.

well as Ed would say now you know me for sure as the KBman:hehe:
what I not fear but not like to close is the King Cobra we have them see sometimes close to the house but not to close only little ones in the house sometimes and poisonous ones.
there is one very poisonous critter thousandfoot which can kill you in less than one hour if not treated asap. these in monsoon season see few times in the house and lucky not stepped on them at night in the dark.

lucky as you said

thanks
