Route too big to share

Thai1On

Slave to my route
I have a request for the latest in progress version of the L&A. It is way too big to fit into a CDP file now due to HD Terrain. How can I send it for someone to test and review?

Hi Dave,

You can open the route for editing in Explorer in Content Manager.

Copy the route's folder from the editing folder to another location such as a temporary folder elsewhere.

Once copied, right-click on the route folder now in your temp folder and send to a compressed file. This will zip up the route folder and make it transportable.

Upload the .zip to your OneDrive, Google Drive or some other file sharing service and share the link with your recipient.

When he installs the route, he decompresses the route and drags that folder into Content Manager or uses File--->Import--->Content Folder.

Remember to close Windows Explorer and revert your route to original in Content Manager.

Hi John, are there only 2 files open in editing? living-railroad.dat and mapfile.bmk

I did not see any .tzarc file.

Oh, I know what you did. You need to access the route in Content Manager. I may have led you astray with my convoluted instructions.

In Content Manager,
Right-click on the route.
Choose Open for editing

Open up File Explorer.
Navigate to your Trainz data editing folder, wherever that is.

You'll see a folder with the kuid with spaces instead of colons.
Copy that folder to a temporary place and zip it up from there.

Sometimes, I can tell you how a clock works but never how to tell the time!
