Roads without traffic

..........
Hi guys; It seems every road I try ends up having cars driving on it. I thought the ones that said "no traffic" would be what I needed, but they also have cars driving on them. Can some body tell me which roads I should be looking for.

Cheers.....Rick

Hi,

Most of the roads that say no traffic means that they do not generate traffic on their own. But if you have a T intersection for example, connected to this type of road then cars will show up on the road as they are generated by the junction.
if the junction you are using has two splines leading to the road you want free of traffic, connect the road spline to the inner one.

Hope this helps

Hi Rick,

There are quite a few roads around that should have no traffic, I'm just wondering if there is something odd about your installation or maybe it's to do with older spline assets having problems under TS12 ?

I know that my roads (on the DLS) don't have any traffic, you have to add your own. If you want to try one of them look for Author = Itareus or assets named C+ RN .....

If that shows traffic then someting is up ! (because they have all been tested in TS2010 and TS12 and are traffic free).

Edit: Just another thought, even no traffic roads may show traffic in Surveyor - try running Driver and see how they look.

Cheers

Chris

Thanks guys: Carr and Chris both of your ideas may be part of the problem, I am working in surveyor and have a junction. Chris, I'll have a look in driver and check out your roads.

Cheers, thanks again......Rick

Until I learn a bit more, I moved my dirt roads just one of those hairs away from each other, threw some dirt around the intersections, and all is well. There's something about the traffic that turns me off. I think it would be a model railroader's dream come true though!

Thanks again.........Rick

Rick.
Any time you join a "No Traffic" road to a road that generates traffic it "will" run traffic from it.
A trick you may not be aware of yet ? when you lay a "one way" road allways lay it against the direction that you expect the traffic to go.
One such road is Hwy 01.

And if you want to run a (footpath) side walk so the kerb side is alongside the road, lay it against the Traffic as well.

Thanks for the info NormP; I'm guessing you guys that have been around for awhile figured out how to make things work they way you want it to work. Thanks for passing on what you've learned. In the future, I may want to the see the odd pre '55 auto driving down a dusty old road on my route. I won't get much done today, my father in law is coming for a visit today. I bought him a copy of TS12 awhile back, and he's finally coming here to get it. He loves trains. He drove my wife nuts the last time they went on a vacation together. I think TS12 right out of the box will be great for him. I'm 100% sure he will be telling me if any of those dang "fancy new diesels" are not up to par. I'll have to hook the rail driver up for him, I have it off to the side, just gets in the way when I'm working on the route. Jeez, I like the old boy, I just hope I get a crack at the sim today!

Cheers.....Rick

I'm probably messed up but I though there was an option when you selected the road spline that turned traffic on or off. I know I've used it before. Maybe it's an eariler version.
