Evening all...

im after a road with Tramtracks in the middle with the ability to add tram

stops in.....roads like you see in major cities that have trams...

thanks Dan.

Most tram layouts use "rail only" tracks - which have no sleepers/ties and no ballast, just a pair of parallel rails, that is laid on top of an existing road spline. You would have at least one set of suitable tracks in Surveyor that would have been installed with Trainz - others are available on the DLS.

Tram stops, at the simplest level, are just invisible stations added to the track. More elaborate tram stops, with low level platforms and other accessories, are available on the DLS.

Hello Dan,

In Trainz2009 - you can use the Modula City Custom Map - starter map with infrastructure tramways.

There is also the Metropolis modula city v2.2 .

Have a look at http://trainzland.com/ - products modula city v2.0

I don't know if Modula city is available in Trainz2010 - still waiting for the mailman to bring me the package.

Have also a look at following link http://trainz.jan-portofolio.nl/freeware.php?pagina=3 ( and following page - click on pagina verder ) for some trams.

If you need some translation help for the above webpage - just give a signal.

Seasonal greetings

I am afraid that pware is a tad wrong there about using rails only.

That was years ago and there are tram tracks available on Trainz. Indeed I built the whole of my city's former tram system closed in 1962 and it covers over 240 boards using Silversmith's track set in "setts". There is other tram track out there too. Some of Silversmith's track the 2mm I think it is is "bendy" to help. So there is no need at all to use rails only without sleepers!

The track you're thinking of is actually by Andi06. There is also good tram track by Motorman1066 and Denis_fr. Silversmith has built overhead poles to suit Andi's track. I've also realesed quite a few accessories for tramways (mostly for modern trams with 5.3m high overhead).

Can I ask what kind/era of trams are you interested in?
