Road Tunnels?

I'm looking for a simple road tunnel to use on my route.
This seems to be a hard thing to find.
Can anyone lead me to one?
Looked in dls with no luck at all.
I thought we had some tunnels way back when,
Any suggestions?

I was just looking at everything in the spline section of trainz and was amazed at all the great assets I have downloaded from different routes and other languages.
There are many great objects here to use on a route.
So many tallented and creative computer people.
Thanks to all of them, for such nice products for us to use.

Maddy25 has <kuid2:124017:26009:1> and I've seen YARNish tunnels. Type "tunnel" in the DLS, make sure you tick the checkboxes for older versions, and a TON of tunnels come up.

You can always use a rail tunnel too..... Put the tunnel where you want it, erase the tracks by attaching invisible track (not all rail tunnels will match to the track that is attached to them, but you can change that in the config if you want), then lay a road in to the tunnel entrance. I make the road with a spline point at the entrance to the tunnel and a spline point "uphill" on the tunnel. I use the straighten track tool on the road (yes it works on roads), get the vertex height of the tunnel in the track tab, go to the splines tab and set vertex height on the two road vertexes and voila! The train tunnel is now a road tunnel.

Here's something I just tried that works great: also clone the rail tunnel, edit the config to bridgetrack of the road kuid instead of a track kuid. Change istrack to 0. Now any rail tunnel can be a road tunnel.

This is Josef Pav's LP Tunnel 1t TS12 that PhilSkene fixed to work in newer versions of Trainz with streadway's YARNish 2-lane road in it. Took about 10 minutes to make, only because I had to launch Trainz twice to check my work. Ta Da!!!
 
I am pretty certain I saw some on the dls some time ago when I was looking for train tunnels cant remember the Kuids through.
 
One more question about tunnels. I have noticed lately that when placing regular track tunnels the opening to the tunnels show the gridlines just inside of the opening. This was easily removed before in trainz earlier editions but now in 2012 this is not working for me. Anyone know what is going on? Or have the solution.

I have no idea. But I presume it might be for cosmetic reasons - so that the track ends wouldn't look so mismatched for tunnels where the track used is 'locked' and doesn't automatically change to whatever track type is connected to it. But that's just a presumption on my part.

As for road tunnels, I know jjslll54 made a modern looking Freeway tunnel for UTC - KUID:46819:37065, (if using the Black Pages, make sure 'UTC' ticked otherwise it won't appear in searches), but I'm not sure how compatible it is with the latest versions of Trainz.
 
Most of jjslll54's stuff comes up as faulty, but it is easily repaired. The one asset I just looked at is "the tag 'name' in container 'tunnel' is empty." Delete the name tag and it is good to go. If you use CCP, there are a few other empty tags like email and organization to delete. Commits fine then and is good to go. Some of his stuff has fixed TS12 versions that others have fixed for him with his permission.
