No, this is not the thread you think it will be. Let me start by saying that in the last year there has been lots of bickering between me and N3V as well as a few others. In this same year I turned 50 and realized that I need to start enjoying life a bit more with a lot less friction then I've been experiencing. I'm not saying that I regret the reasons for all the fighting, much of it was warranted and I still feel I was wronged. However, some of the arguments were over the top and were created just to show the absurdity of it all and I am willing to take the responsibility for them and move on. The fact of the matter is that I'm tired of being pissed off while sitting at the computer so I need to make a major attitude adjustment and start enjoying this hobby like I used to.
For those that don't know me, I've been here for a long time. Just about at the beginning of Trainz itself. I found that Trainz and other railroad simulators were fascinating to me and I've been hooked on it ever since. I created some things over the years. Look for the usernames LurganBr2005, MrScott2006, LWVRR and now Riptrack59... Riptrack59 was to be my TANE username. Heck there might be more old usernames out there that I can't think of at the moment. I've always tried to get "like minded" people together to start some interesting Trainz projects but this seemed to fail just about every time. Most of the last five to seven years was spend building the Laurel Line, but even this failed and was never finished...mostly because of me being a perfectionist and changing my opinion on which direction the project should take...over and over again! I can't blame people for getting bored with it and then walking away from the project.
For the last couple of months I've been reinventing myself. First, I started by setting up a better environment for me to work on my train projects. I did this by refurnishing my computer room with nice new furniture which includes a nice comfy chair and a huge desk. Next I plan on getting a nice brand new "mega" computer to do all my work on. What project will I work on? I have no idea at this point. I do know that I started taking an interest in steam power all thought I know nothing about it. I also would like to work on a projects that involves the area that I live in...the northern anthracite region of Pennsylvania. Many railroads ran through this area so there are a lot of options with that! This area was a major factor in the industrial revolution. I've been learning much details about this area and the historical railroading and anthracite industries that was here. If you ever have a question that involve the history of this area, I'm the person to ask.
In preparation of starting my projects up again I created and new username...BlackDiamond1964 and the BDWorkshop. What is the BDWorkshop? Not really sure yet but all future content that I create will have this name on it. I will eventually find a off-site home for me to share my creations. As far as any friction on these forums...well, I'm done with that and it's time to move on. I'm tired of being a miserable old cuss.
