Reversing the train

Hello All,

Is there a rule, etc etc how to reverse the engine once it reached its' trigger?

Thanks
Ishie

Yes there are two rules avaialble - "Change Direction Command" or "Change Train Direction". These are selected in Edit Session, Driver Commands, just tick the box you want to use. The command will then be available in Driver Setup.

When you say reverse do you mean the direction of travel? In which case the response from JackDownUnder will solve the problem.
If you mean move the loco to the other end of the train then the Run Around command will do that provided a run around siding or loop line exists next to the trigger.
If you mean reverse the physical orientation (ie direction it is facing) of the locomotive then a turntable with a more complicated set of rules would be needed.

Just to add to pware's response. If you care about the visible driver, Run Around Ex does the same thing as Run Around but also moves it to the lead new lead loco if there's more than one unit. It also seems to be more reliable than Run Around in some situations.

Good Morning to All --

First, thank you for your posts!!!

This is the scenario!
It is not a train, but a single vehicle - I am using trackmarks to have the vehicle go from point A to point B, and when the vehicle reaches point B I would like it to reverse itself, so the process begins again, since I have it set up to move back and forth between point A and point B --- The run around rule does not work here, because it does not flip the vehicle, but instead it just changes the arrow so the vehicle moves forward the opposite direction!

What I want to do, I guess, is just flip the vehicle so it's headlights points in the right direction when it reaches point B, and then return back to point A!

Thank guys

Ish

In that case I think you’re going to have to do as pware suggested and use a turntable or a wye to turn the loco. I’m not aware of any command that will physically rotate a locomotive 180 degrees.

EDIT: You could also use a portal, or, in your example, two.

This will do the job...

SetTrainDirection,<kuid:131986:1057>

It both changes the direction of the unit, and changes the direction of the headlamp.
