Return to Westhaven... (fairly big pics)

Another update:

The route is not far off finished now. There are still some places where I need to finish or improve the tramway overhead, and I also need to add a few more scenic details in one or two areas. Then the rest of it is adding trackmarks etc and making sure the AI can find it's way...

Then I'll be after a small number of beta testers...

Blimey! Excellent stuff Paul as always :) it's content like this that makes me wonder if I'll ever fully move away from TRS - keep up the top work!

Hi Paul

Nicey done, like the new tramway section, the overhead is looking really nice and the same with the narrow gauge.

Who was the tram driver? It had to be Alister, porr ol man he gets blamed for everything that goes wrong in Trainz.

Tom

Thanks Tom - the overhead is now finally finished (I hope).

Not a great deal more to do now before I'm looking for some beta testers...

Thanks Bearcat - you're on the list. It'll be at least a couple more weeks - I hope you have broadband...

The route is for TRS04 and TRS06, so I'll need testers for both...

Here is something I created to run on Paul's Westhaven Coastal:

It needs a bit more editing

Hi Paul!

I could beta for TRS06. May I also ask... does this have Westhaven Coastal? If so, the set above will be ideal, hence the FWC(First Westhaven Coastal) logo on the turbostar.

Isaac - The route in question is Westhaven Coastal. It includes an enhanced and extended version of Westhaven Trams (on the DLS), and also a narrow gauge (2'6" / 760mm) line along the coast (hence the name). It also features the end of the standard gauge branchline as far as the summit tunnel, where it disappears into portals. The final instalment of the route will include the entire branchline, and a section of the electrified main line.

As far as rolling stock is concerned, I prefer to keep the standard gauge stuff prototypical, but obviously you can run what you like. As that looks like the Railwaves / Snowsignal Turbostar, distribution of re-skins is prohibited, even between those who own a copy of the model. The skin looks good so far though, though the white looks a bit flat and bright. The same comments go too for your suggestion for Bridgehampton livery stock - I've already done some trams (which I do have permission to release), and I don't see the need for heavy rail custom liveries. What you do, however, is up to you, so long as any re-skins have creator's approval for release.

And yes, you can beta test when the time comes. I'd suggest to download the dependencies for Westhaven Trams to get a good start on the required content. There are a lot of items needed... :o

Excellent pics as usual, Paul. Well done.

Creating your own fictional route is so much more fun than doing a 'real-world' one. You can let your imagination run wild.

Best wishes,
Padster

And some more...

I'm getting into the operational side of things more now - most of the scenery is done. Adding trackmarks, setting up industries, and writing schedules... and testing...

Firstly a run up the line above Colthwaite...
