Hey,

Has it been made a reskinning tuturial for trainz 2010? I really want to start with some repainting, but can only find tut for 2006? ...

Thanks..

Thank you very much!

But it is one problem..

I cant find "Program Files/Auran/TS2009/editing/New Asset".
But i can find "Program Files/NR3 Games/Train Simulator Engineers Edition"..
What should i do now..? I have tried to find the folder in there, but i cant find it.. I also run the games via "Impulse" if that will help.

Thanks and regards,
Daniel

You skipped some steps and failed to compensate for the difference in versions. If you have TS2010 you won't see "TS2009", and unless you open for edit from Content Manager, you won't find files directly in Windows Explorer.

First step is open Content Manager;

Clone (make your own copy of) by right clicking and selecting Clone.

When the new clone shows up, right click on that and choose Edit, then Edit in Explorer.

That is what opens the explorer window with the folder structure and file names. Note that this is a TEMPORARY folder, when you go back to Content Manager to commit the changes, all this gets compiled back into hexadecimal code, so you won't find it with any regular Windows Explorer search, you need to go through Content Manager again. Think of Content Manager as a compiler/decompiler for the code and it makes more sense, you can't edit without decompiling first.

Sorry for the 2009, it was ment to be 2010.

But, this is what happend:

1. I clone the Renfe 447M.
2. I try to edit it in explorer.
3. Then it come up a window, but it is just showing "Daniel/My Documents/" nothing more...?

Daniel

That's most likely the problem, I have XP but from what I've read about Windows 7 it "protects" you from damaging your software by pretending to install things in one place, and actually installing in a secret virtual folder someplace else. You will need to find someone to guide you through setting up the UAC permissions, how to install the game, how to use "run as administrator" for things like Content Manager. I can't do it because the only thing I know about Windows 7 UAC is all the confusion I have read about, I have never actually used it myself.

No, I mean you need to find someone who knows about Windows 7, so they can tell you what your next step should be. I could take a guess and say "try selecting your Trainz shortcut and right click on it, select run as administrator or disable UAC". but I would only be guessing since I don't have Windows 7 and can't try it myself to confirm it works.

I just tried to run it as adminstrator.. But it still does't work..
Do you know anyone that uses windows 7 and can do repaints?

Anyway, thanks for ur help! :)
