Requesting help - TrainsDEM and Google Maps

I really want to create a route that is based on Guild's Lake in Portland, OR.
I have downloaded and tried to get my baseboards set up using TrainsDEM and Google maps.
I have tried and tried and tried - and failed each time.
I know I am a bit of an old fart but I have a pretty good handle on technology...but this is beyond me!
I am asking for someone to do it for me.
If I ever post the route to the DLS I will give full credit.
PLEASE will someone help me out here ??

Run the Transdem tutorials, they will help.
Remember for US DEM, you need to increment the source HGT file by 1. Portland Oregon is at (roughly) 45.5 degrees north by -122.7 (west), so if you go to the NASA site Index of /auxdata/dem/SRTMGL1 (esa.int)
You need the file N45W177. This will have to be unzipped before Transdem can see it. For a first attempt, don't bother trying to georeference US topo maps. Use the built in map servers for Open Street Map or similar to get your overlay (I usually do at between 1:100000 or 1:200000 scale). These will need to be collated one at a time, moving your position to the edge of the map where you want to continue. Trace the route then go back to the map server, select a smaller scale (1:50000 works well) and select map along route. You will then be ready to extract your terraformed and overlaid route for importation to Trainz.
