Hmmm. So your posting under a different username then? Unfortunately, join dates from before the forum crash were reset to Nov 2006. Your however is Aug 2007. So, to most of us who check the join date to see if the user is a relatively new user, or an older one, this makes you look like a relatively new user.
So, who were you then? When did you really join?
If you were part of the forum before the big crash, you would remember the 'Ignore this Thread... just testing forum software' thread ended up just being a bit of fun. In fact, it was locked, and restarted just before the crash, to make it easier for mods to handle, but to keep the fun alive. Rob has kept this bit of fun going. The idea being to show that these forums can still be fun. Yes, it is off topic. But, it's an off topic thread that has a story behind it, and helps to link us back to the old forums. It also is a bit of fun, which I believe these forums need a dose of (fun that is).
If you really dislike the 'Ignore this Thread... just testing forum software', you do know you can ignore it? Same as if you do see an off topic post/thread, just stick a message in one of the posts in there, and put into the message that you believe that the thread has gone off topic. If you have a post of your own in there, you could always use the report button on that post...
