Renaming Junctions

When you are laying track and connect another piece to make a junction, a number is assigned in surveyor to each junction. Is there a way to rename those junctions? I have tried, but to no avail.

Mike:)

Yep, click on the Trackside button in the Track flyout. Click on the little Question Mark "?", at the bottom, which takes you to the properties. Type in the name in the box.

Train Man Thanks for the tip. Trainz is always a learing experience. I do appreciate the help.

Major BIMP ... Renaming Junctions

If you use AI "Drive To Trackmark" or "Drive Via Trackmark", or "couple to"-"railcar number, loco number" ... I have found that naming junctions has no purpose at all !

I re-name ALL my junctions with a "comma" ( ' ) ... ie: "Junction 2036", is just nonsencical info, that just takes up space on the screen.

All AI needs is a switch lever to operate ... AI does not navigate via "junction names".

Drive, Just Drive, Auto Drive, Auto Pilot are also popular AI commands.

I must strongly disagree when you say naming junctions (point switches) serves no useful purpose. I and a lot of people who play multiplayer find it very useful. Used in conjunction with the HUD display it not only gives the a description of the junction which can also give it,s location but also the distance to it. I first came across this system in UMR SUMMER and I liked it so much I,m now using it on my own multiplayer route. Another popular multiplayer route it is used in is Montana Rail Link.

This really is useful, as I've found out, when an AI driver is stuck. Seeing the drivers report "Waiting for junction 32564" really means a lot. Seeing the same report "Waiting for junction EN-1", can mean Enfield North Jct. 1 which is a much more useful for finding the problem.

Moparb If you click on where the track marks are go to advance, click that at the bottom is get radis where it said 20.00 click on that put in 00.05 then click on aply then click your turn out.
This will change the radis of your switches so you can switch them as soon as your train crosses the switch.
Another Tip: Choose a switchstand you like drag it to your pick list. Now at the end of the days work, click on main menu go down to replace asset.
Get the default switch lever drag it to the box to replace, now drag the one from your pick list drag it to replace with click ok.
Now all the default levers are replaced with the ones you like.
