Renaming content-assistance requested

Track Warper
I have still to unravel the maze of files that TRS 2006 uses to organize and store content and figure out what is stored where.

I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me the best way to rename content so that the new name appears in CMP and appears in the drop-down asset menus in surveyor. Which files and which tags are the critical ones that need to be changed?

Thanks. -Walt

Hi.

Go to CMP Content Manger Plus and right-click on the asset move the mouse to "Edit and then click "Edit in CCP" then backspace username and type the name you want then close the program it will ask to save. Then right-click the asset again move mouse over "Edit" and click "Commit" then close CMP and go into trainz and type it in at the search bar and there you go.

Indeed, think of CCP as a rabid dog.... only go near it if you really know what you are doing. ;)

Right click the asset, 'Open in Explorer' and then change the Username entry in the config.txt file.

Close that and the folder view which opened and then Ctrl-M to commit it back to the database.

Thanks for the warning. I haven't had my rabies shots.

Since it's all a mystery to me, sticking to Explorer and using cloned assets only seems like the way to go (and documenting changes in case things go awry).

If you just wish to rename the asset in CMP you can do so without using CCP.
Just select the item and change the name in asset details.

I renamed all the locos with shorter names so they were easier to see in Surveyor & Railyard.
