REMEMBERING THE OLD FORUM :

The status and accompanying locomotive was based on the total messages you had posted. It was good in that it was a rough indicator of the relative experience a person had. I say rough because a very prolific poster could run up his total very fast and still be a relative newbie as far as game experience. It also tended to generate an inordinate amount of waffle, which where posts almost totally devoid of any intelligent discussion or comment. But interspersed among the waffle were also many gems and fine discussions about all things trains.

Thanks for the memories.

Hi M
Yep! There was a bit of waffle, and as I recall one or two annoying idiots, But like you pointed out, there were a lot of jems there.
I started with the original Trainz, back in 2003, and I learned more from the Forum than any documentation produced (No disrespect meant to the producers of the documents).
Cheers
Pete.

Some great information on those old pages, my join date was Oct. 2005. I remember the waffle train

Think I was a passenger a few times too...;):hehe:

For myself, I'v been here since early '04 and the one big thing I miss was the detailed posts on how to do things or fix issues. I miss the members that have passed away and and the wealth of knowledge that went with them.
However in the same breath There are some great individuals who have stepped into the picture to replace them who also have contributed greatly to this new forum. I Myself have not been on much recently and am still enjoying Trainz from time to time and will soon have a new much larger updated version of my rout available for download. I added way to many baseboards and then had to go through and texture and make track on all of them but its done I am just testing it now.

I remember the first forum, before those two posted.. is there not an archive of that one? the one with the old trainz logo at the top with the class37 and station I believe..

David

Edit: I should mention that you can fit a total of 12 before you exceed the CoC regulation for image width in signatures.
