REMEMBERING THE OLD FORUM :

The little flag was good, but mainly it was the boxes that showed which versions of Trainz people had registered, which meant we could avoid helping warez users.

Warez users? These people are exactly the sort of freaks that need help. They are the runts of society that exist on other peoples misfortunes. They are like beggars on the city streets that moan when you only chuck them a few cents and look up peoples skirts. Not nice people, nor eco-friendly. They defenitly need your help.

Thank you.

lol i cant remember the TRS2006 forum. Was it around long?

Hi Laddie, I can't even remember if I was here when you were. ;)
The TRS2006 forum was fairly short-lived, I believe only a few months if I recall correctly.

The good 'ole '04 forum is the one we all miss. Although we miss just the original sections of the forum as well, that one just had a nice feel to it.
Thanks for posting those shots Meridious.

I loved the features mentioned, such as whether you've uploaded DLS content or not, post count in locomotives, and the fact that you could see announcements from creators that now create top content, but then it was that single texture type. You could see how creators evolved and could learn from what they learned.

I remember back to my first post, with the topic name 'Drgw K28', asking whether there was a D&RGW K-28 (now created) around that I couldn't find by google-ing. It was the typical newb thread, where I had the original question answered by several kind and long gone forum members, and then began asking a separate question in the same thread. I always loved looking back at that and how I had improved and learned the lay of the land.

I agree with what Dru said, as much as we all miss the old forum, and dislike this one, there is no going back and we can only remember the old forum by looking at the few screenshots taken of it.

EDIT: I just did a quick searching around, but does it say anywhere when you joined Planet Auran? That could probably give you an exact date of when you registered the game, although you might not have joined the forum at that exact moment. But it would give you an idea of how long you've been here if you don't remember the exact month like me. - Nevermind, just found it -

In your planet auran profile.....oh didn't see that last line.

I do miss the old forum. It always seemed very happy and going. I remember that just about every time i clicked "new posts" there were a number of new posts to look at; even if I had just refreshed the list. however here. sometimes hours can go by with out any new posts appearing. I feel that the "new" forum is often a tad grumpy; which i blame on current society not anything here; oh well life moves on...

however having the train cars back would be nice!

Well ,this was certainly an interesting read,. I had missed all those familiar names from the old forum. Its like a close knit neighbourhood, or better yet a very large family. When we lost someone, for whatever reason,we were all concerned posted our thoughts regarding same. I must say though to be in this particular post with all the older(not necessarily in age),more seasoned, trainzers,it is nice to be back.
Life is good.

It is probable that the current members with that date alongside their name were also members of the old forum.
I don't have an opinion as to which forum was best, but I do miss several old members (not in age) who have sadly passed away.
Cheers

Yeah. I tried to log in. Next thing I knew it it sent a message to helpdesk.

I don't think that those forums will be online for much longer.:'(

Interesting Thread & Post,
Why can't we bring back some of the old favorites to this Forum, like National Flags instead of 'location', and a status indicator, Conductor, Engineer Etc. depending on how many entries you made in the Forum (or was it from registering your first Trainz, can't remember), it's certainly better than newbie, nerd, Etc.
Cheers
Pete.
