Hopefully someone can at least measure this stuff before it vanishes again for historical purposes. All this stuff will vanish at some point and it will be lost.
This reminds me of a story the guy who owns the local model trains shop told me.... Apparently, there's a entire steam locomotive that was buiried.... Can't remember the location, but I think it was for supporting something, a bridge maybe... But think, an ENTIRE STEAM ENGINE buiried... Seriously....
I know where there is a submerged train car. I am unsure of what exact type beyond a freight. I want to say it is a boxcar. But if you were to go canoeing by the RR bridge you can see clearly thru the water its wheel.

Edit: Here is a pic of the bridge the train fell off from.
the buoys are for the dam which the photagrapher is on. In the distance you can just make out the ArTrain sitting on its siding off the NS Michigan Line (which is where Amtrak runs)
very interesting, thanks for sharing!
I found what looks to be some good pictures here, but unfortunatly i cant access them as im not a Train-Orders member
Anyone here a member of TO? If someone could repost the pictures that would be great http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,1776334
That's not the first time I can remember that Lake Shasta's water level was that low. It wasn't that many yaers ago that they had to open the spill way gates because the lake was so full.

there was an artical in trains mag. about that some railroads used it as a cheep way of scraping loco's and some were traped in tunnel caveins and just left there
