Registering my existing copy of Trainz '06 on my new laptop.

How do I register my existing copy of Trainz '06 on my new laptop? I tried, but a message appears saying the copy is already registered to me.

You only need to register a product once at Planet Auran (which you already have done).

After that you just enter your login details on the TRS2006 Launcher>Options screen.

You can have a copy on your desktop and laptop if you wish.

It isn't working. After signing in with my username and password , I launched the CMP and got a popup; "Unable to register URL registry key". I can import and commit content, but it doesn't show up in Surveyor.

So I assume you are using Vista?

I get this too with 2006, I just press Ok - three times and then it works fine, assuming you have installed 2006 as an administrator. I have also run mine under XP compatibility mode.

That has nothing to do with the serial number, and everything to do with not being able to set a variety of registry keys inside your operating system because you didn't install and run using 'run as administrator'.

The registry keys are used for handling things like being able to click on a download link on the DLS and CMP automatically installing the kuid, and other various features.

Right click on file > Properties > Compatibilty > Run as Administrator.
Or from Start Menu Right click on shortcut > Run as Administrator.

:'( The URL registry key STILL won't activate even after I selected run as administrator. The funny thing thing is that the download helper box is open and Idle, which I presume means the installation is recognized online by Auran as valid.

Could the problem with compatbility with microsoft.NETFramework? When I installed Trainz, a popup said that there were compatibility issues with that, but I could'nt find a solution online (via the link in the message). I installed it anyways.
