Red lines on track.

Hi all, I have Harcourt's route UK Valley Rail and when placing consists, there are red lines over the track at Castletown station.

This is the only station that I have seen these lines.

Can anyone tell me what the are and what is they function if any to the track?

Thanks.

Craig.

Is ther any chance you could post a screenshot of the red lines so those without the route (like me) can see? :)

Kieran.

I agree with Kieran regarding a screenshot which would help narrow down, or diagnose, the problem.

If you are placing consists then I guess you are seeing the red lines in Surveyor.

Do they also show in Driver? If not, my best guess is that they could be invisible track or the path taken by animated figure or other asset.

Sounds good to me, but wouldn't the figure be there also ?

True, but without seeing an image who knows?

I guess there could be a few animated characters crossing the track on foot and it may not be immediately obvious that the red lines are associated. One might be obvious, but more than one can look confusing, particularly if they are set at slightly different angles of "walk".

Edit:
Just seen the screenshot. Not a figure in sight! Bang goes that theory.

The compass shows that the posted image is in Surveyor.

The red lines look like invisible track which, unusually, are laid over some regular track. No idea why.

Presumably it doesn't show in Driver (it shouldn't), but it's purpose is a mystery to me. Can you click on the track in Surveyor and post the name & kuid of the track.

Here's a guess or two from me:

1. They're invisible track from the station or the individual platforms but they had other track placed over them instead of connecting it to the splines
2. Some animated people are suicidal
3. Invisible track was placed for staging trains
4. A grass/weed spline is missing or faulty

There's a few guesses. Thanks for the image. :)

Craig.

Right. I've had a look at the station in question and it looks like Harcourt has used a station with attached track but wanted to lay runaround points at the ends of the platforms, thus he's nullified the attached track with invisible track and laid his own loose track :)

Hi everyone. The reason I wanted to know about the red lines is that some trains coming out of the station derail, so I was wondering if I could remove the lines, I can't, so that I could re lay the track.

But I'll just have to try and remember which platforms not to use.

Hi Craig,
I say what's happening there is that you placed a train onto the invisible track (shown red in surveyor) within the station, and these fixed tracks aren't connecting at either end so your train simply runs off them - so you have to make sure when placing a train onto the track that it is sitting on the normal workable track I have laid. As Honeymonster pointed out, I created this tricky situation to enable me to lay may own track layout (to have run around loops etc..) whilst still making use of the station! ;)
You won't be able to remove the invisible red lines at all as these are fixed to the station object.
