Hello All,

Version 114022

I keep getting the following 'Red Bug" message on start up.

What does it mean and how can I fix it?

Ah, the good old Built-in AJS Superscript Code Library bug. The only real cure is to use the previous non Built-in version instead and edit it to have the same KUID number as the buggy Built-in version. N3V may do something about it soon(TM), but don't hold your breath.

Hello Kotangagirl,

Thanks for your reply.

Can you help me understand what I need to do from here, I'm not overly confident with fiddling in the background stuff.

I'll download the obsolete version <kuid2:122285:508:20>, which I presume is the latest edition prior to my installed version, which shows as <kuid2:122285:508:23>

Do I alter the kuid number in the config file? to what? eg to <kuid2:122285:508:24>

Do I alter the trainz-build number? if so to what?

Do I need to do anything else, or do something completely different?

Thanks

Russell

Hi Russell, - from memory the build number for the '23' version is the same as the '20' version and it doesn't need to be changed. I don't know what went wrong when the '23' version was created and designated as 'Built-in', but the thing doesn't work and shows up as being faulty.

What you do is download the obsolete version and then open it for editing in Explorer.

Click out of the file list one level up so you can see the folder and copy it.

I then paste the folder temporarily to the desktop.

Open your new folder and change the KUID from '20' to '23'. Yes you could go to '24' but you run the risk of your rollingstock acquiring your local AJS version as a dependency which might cause problems later. Changing to '23' will be fine.

Save your changes and close your temporary folder on the desktop.

Now all you have to do is drag the folder into Content Manager.

Now click on 'Open for Editing' in Content Manager and you should see the AJS asset listed as 'Open for edit'.

Right click on the listing and choose 'Submit edits'.

All going well Content Manager will commit your new AJS version and all should be fine and lovely.

Any problems or questions feel free to ask.

Hello Annie

Much appreciated. Really appreciate your help.

I'll give it a go and see if I can stuff it up.
