Performing an EDR did not help. What initial occurred was upon opening the route, everything disappeared and I was just floating in space. I reloaded and got the bug, so I performed the EDR. It turned out I had a train that had become invisible, and after the EDR it was showing errors on some of the rolling stock as well as the signals it was triggering...error said something along the lines of "compiled script class". I exited and waited a bit, came back and they showed an error but upon checking it was indicated there was no error, so I waited a bit and they were fine (which seems to happen after an EDR anyways). I went in and deleted the invisible train by creating a second route layer and merging it, which caused the train to become visible. At this point I saved the route and all seemed fine but then the damn bug came back and I don't understand what it is referencing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
(p.s. I don't use quick drive anymore, either)

This sounds like you have some corrupted or a corrupted rolling stock somewhere on your route. I suggest checking your consists and removing them one at a time to find the culprit. I had this happen once with some Russian rail cranes. They are awesome looking railcars but they caused the same error you have now. It drove me crazy finding who did this, and of course it was the last thing I deleted. :)
