recording trainz videos with OBS studio?

does anyone know the best way to record trainz with obs studio i tried using the display capture but the final video turned out like this

i know i could have cut out the part where im starting the recording and stopping it but the thing i really want to know is how to record it so it is not cropped the second method i tried using is game capture set to capture any fullscreen application i set it recording and ran a few trains and guess what? IT DID NOT EVEN RECORD IT all i got was the audio so please can anyone tell me the best way to record trainz with OBS?
