Reconstructing a portion of the Colorado Midland

I know that trainboi1 is making mods for Railroader, whose steam locomotives were made by trainman7617, one of the former content creators of The Backshop, and trainboy234567, who formerly operated Greencoast Studios, and is also a game dev for a game called Century of Steam, so Trainz isn't the only thing he's working on. Add on to that that he is either a volunteer or employee at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, he's got a lot on his plate.
yeah hes moved on to other areas, pity, as we could really do with his talents in this sim. still he cant do everything and what he has done is pretty amazing.

Hagerman pass.
Thought I would bump this again as I am near completing one more Rocky mountain route and would like to do another before I pass on to the great railroad in the sky ( or more likely the great railroad tunnel underground :-) Whatever, I would love to undertake the Colorado Midland over Hagerman pass.

However, this is a route that I cant undertake unless I have someone who can model a huge trestle spline that is wide and high enough for the approaches of the tunnel ( most CM buildings were much like others used in the era so I can reskin items to remsbvle them ) and , I also need to some rolling stock.

The CM, which was standard gauge, used pretty bog standard Baldwin 2-8-0s and Schenectady ( later Alco) 4.6-0s .In the last years of the line, they used larger, handsome looking baldwin 2-8-0's , as far as I am aware, there is nothing preexisting around that looks much like those beasts.

I have no idea whether any builders plans exist for these engines and in their absence I guess the only option is to reskin any locos that fall loosely into that category and of course, whose creators allow reskins .

So basically, can anyone suggest any existing trainz engines that could be used to resemble CM locos ? The closes to can find is the Tonopah and Tidewater 2-8-0 made by Trainzforge, but it has to be paired with a different tender. .

Secondly, if we can find any , is there anyone who could undertake the task to reskin them ? I do have a fair amount of info on the CM , color schemes etc . I would just like to make one last attempt at rustling up some interest in this project. if there is no response this time round , then I think I can put the project to bed for good.

Actually Ben Neal already made that Colorado Midland Consolidation 2-8-0 and I think is still available on his website. It is a little too lo-poly, even for my taste. But, I remember, in that epoch (when it appeared) it was quite a revelation.

yeah, I used that when i was working on the route,, but its showing its age , it really needs a revamp.

There is a bit of dearth of 2-8-0s and 4-6-0s from the 1880s and 1900s on the DLS. Beggars cannot be choosers , so far, I've modified 3 engines to run on the CM section of this route. One is one of Trainboi1's Tidewater and Tonapah trainzforge 2-8-0s , it has to use a substitute tender as the original is an oil burner, whether he will approve that or not, who knows. I've asked permission to upload to DLS but so far haven't heard from him. it is representing class 136 . This is very close to number 202, as both have straight boilers with no taper, but other then that its pretty close and I dont want to have two of the same class around as they were late to the game , we need some locos pre 1900. as the time span of the entire route is between 1881 and 1918.
The second is the classic Ben neal 2-8-0 GN F1, which used to have a reskin for CM, but no longer has, that took hours to get the lettering to work. Ben made the F1 creative commons, so no issues with that being available on the DLS. This is class 159. circa 1901
The last is arcade and attica 4-6-0 which is a dead ringer for CM 102 class .Theres nothing in the config file re reskins upload to the dls , so I will have to try to contact the creator if they are still around, all the changes are in numbers and it uses the same tender as the T&T 2-8-0 . if its impossible to get permission than I will just have to provide the single tga artwork files for each engine and instructions of how to change the items and users will have to do the work themselves.
Not ideal, I've been looking for drawings of the locos but so far the only builders drawing that exists seem to be of the 0-6-0 they used around the yards and in building Hagerman tunnel , not a lot of use for mainline work.
Just come across some other 1880s 4-6-0s, so will see what I can do with them .
