Realistic Fueling

I raise my glass to all the fine creators that have made this simulator a true joy !
:Y:

I have fallen in love with all 3 of the L SD70's from the DLS! After finding they require refueling, I searched for refueling posts and threads and have learned quite a bit. After searching CMP, I have also learned of the many items listed for this. However most of them are interactive track like the double track with a box beside it, or a collection of scenery made to look like a fuel depot. I did see a couple that I might put together to be almost acceptable. Does anyone know of an item that might actually have a bit of animation attached to look like the loco might actually be refueling? Thank you for your time, Ralph

Phil_C's Diesel Refueling Depot (kuid2:86105:28400:3), which is used in the Fuel and Run session in Tidewater South, has an animated fueling fixture that works with any locos that have a refueling script. You can use it in your route and it works good with any of his 3 SD70s:
L SD70 Conrail Quality NS PRR,<kuid2:86105:5492:1>
L SD70 Illinois Central Gulf AirC,<kuid2:86105:5494:1>
L SD70 Norfolk Southern PRR,<kuid2:86105:5498:1>

Thank you very much, Bob. I must be missing something though because the depot I have on TideWater South is only 3 tracks, 2 with empty platforms and 1 for unloading tank cars for incoming fuel. I see that these are part of my original TRS'06. Has something gotten lost? Ralph

I'm not sure what you don't understand what I posted. Have you run the Fuel and Run session? The refueling depot is the 'empty platform'. When you run the session you start up the loco and pull forward to about the middle of the empty platform, stop and wait. A refueling station will appear and fill the loco.

Thank you again, Bob. Apparently, the 2 times I did the scenario, I was not fueling in the center of the platform. Ran it again, and sure enough, there it was. Was startying to think I had a faulty asset, even tho CMP said it was fine. Thank you again for your patience, your time, and your explanation. Ralph

Only on PhilC's locos ;)

My (soon to be released) Victorian T class locos work fine :P Albeit with a simplified 'fuel consumption' only script (no start up or shut down, but yeah, what the hey, they consume fuel still!).
