READING: The unloved stepchild

I wonder why there is so little interest in the Reading. Other then 2102 and the 0-4-0 Camelback, there really is much "good" content available. Any thoughts as to why? Sad thing is, if it wasn't for the 2102 being currently used on the BM and the 0-4-0's connection to Strasburg, those two probably wouldn't even be available.
One of my all time favorite engines.

I think it's due to the Reading being a smaller railroad that was more or less a local system within Pennsylvania unlike the Erie, Lackawanna, Pennsy, and even the Lehigh Valley. The similar thing happened to the Jersey Central. This is another great railroad with unique equipment, busy routes, and landscape that would make great route and session creation projects.

You're probably right. Living in the heart of that system, it's hard to keep it in perspective as a "local" railroad limited to eastern Pa and NJ

RDG had the unfortunate situation, as far as visibility goes, of using trackage rights to get into northern NJ. RDG had no NYC area terminal of their own, the closest they had was the Port Reading facilities. They were pretty well-known around Philly with the commuter service though.

"...pretty well-known around Philly..." might be a slight understatement

Well, unfortunately, I am clear across the other side of the United States. There are a lot railroads which I have yet to look into all over. Maybe I'll dig in more than the green diesels on Trainz in the future.
