it is "the national seamless server web-site where you can select an area that has been grey-scaled so you can put it into programs that accept it for use"

a had a program for just that sites files but when i went from vista back to xp so i could run trainz classic i forgot to save the file to disk .... now i am totally stuck as i can't remember where i got the file or what its called ... lol .... stupid me .... eh? :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Do I understand correctly you are in need of a program that allows importing grey-scaled images so you can alter them?

Wouldn't any image processing program like Pain or Photoshop do?

The classic freeware MicroDEM/HOG combination will be able to handle downloaded DEMs from Seamless Server. So will payware TransDEM.
