Re-loading Custom Content after system crash

I have been working on four custom layouts for about a year. Six months of that year has been trying to get those four layouts operating after the hard drive containing my Trainz operating system died.

I installed a new (larger) hard drive and re-installed my applications, including Trainz SP4 and Paint Shed.

I installed a layout from a cdp file to establish the dispatcher\downloads file. I copied my backup dispatcher\downloads to the new folder.

I launched Trainz, and went into SURVEYOR. I made a quick one-track/one-loco DUMMY layout & session to establish CUSTOM map & profile folders.

I exited from Trainz, and copied my maps & profiles backup data to the new map & profile folder.

I launched Trainz and went to DRIVER mode. All four of the layouts were available in the menu. One would not load, but the other three worked OK.

My real problems began when I tried to make changes to the three operational layouts. After I made changes, I could not load any of the modified layouts in either SURVEYOR or DRIVER. In addition, the layouts would not load if I saved them under another name.

The saving/loading problem does not exist for new designs.

I am very disappointed because I had hoped to finsh these layouts and upload them to to DLS.

Anyone have any ideas?

did you delete the cache files and let trainz rebuild them? after you put the downloads back. if not trainz wont see them. the custom folder is rebuilt everytime you start trainz that's why the maps and sessions show.

When you re-installed Trainz did you re-enter your old User-ID? Maybe it thinks your layouts aren't yours if your old and new layouts have differnet User-ID ?
