Railworks heads into Muti Player by Next year

I downloaded the freebie from the NRM of 'Scotsman', it was made using Railworks & if it's anything to go by, TRS2004 still beats it hands down.

Railworks so good!!!!!

Must be the icy weather in England playing havoc with the brain cells.......and eye sight!!!!!

RW's world builder will be playing catch-up for the next hundred years to get as good as Trainz surveyor is right now let alone in a hundred years time. Yeah I'm all for competition when it is there but with RW......no competition.

Just read all the other posts from the senior creators and long time users here, yes we gripe and bitch when we don't think Auran/N3V are listening to us but eventually they do listen and we get what we asked for.

Maybe come the New Year.....your brain cells may un-freeze and you will see the light.....hahaha

trainz light years ahead your having a laugh:hehe: its the otherway around Railworks is light years ahead of trainz.

Bull! Have you ever tried to use Railworks version of Surveyor???! IT'S a laugh! Stupidest game-creation software I have ever tried to use. Frustrating!

Give me TRAINZ TS2010 anyday!!

Dave

Railworks is the way ahead people!!! the sooner you all see that the better.

p.s. by the way the AI in Railworks is amazing soooo much easier to use than the AI in trainz that's for sure once you have read the manual that is......

You know bugger all about real railway operation, if you think the AI in RW2 is anything more than rudimentary.

I own RW2 and that route you have shown a piccie of "The Falmouth Branch" i believe.

Is so inaccurate it is laughable, it's a bloody insult to people like myself who worked on the WR of BR. We are supposed to believe that the FB release is nothing more than a cynical marketing ploy to make money.

No thought or attempt has been made to deliver an accurate and immersive version of that particular branch line.

You could be anywhere in the UK.

IKB.

Yay! Bring it on! Competition is the life blood of success! Too bad there aren't 10 multiplayer train games out...:D
Like Euphod said competition is a good thing.... But the trouble with RW, they aren’t giving us any.
We could do with MTS2.1 so we don't get too complacent, but 10 train games would be too many, there aren’t enough train enthusiasts to go round, even if they all had computers, there wouldn’t be any profit for the shareholders, and we would be the ones to lose out. But if there were only one or two good train sim's, that would keep Auran's edge sharp.

And as for passengers walking up and down the platform, it looks to me like, most of then are getting on the Hogwarts special.:hehe: :hehe:

Once you get past the graphics the cupboard is bare

Hi Blackwatch --

"I downloaded the freebie from the NRM of 'Scotsman', it was made using Railworks & if it's anything to go by, TRS2004 still beats it hands down."

I did the same. I certainly said to myself - "WOW, these graphics are good."

But the rest seems oh so crude. It made me really appreciate so many features of Trainz, for example, the red/green arrows over switches, the ease of using the Map View, the intuitive controls for the free roaming view, the high quality of the latest Trainz locomotives and rolling stock, ... .

After a while I got bored by the Scotsman, as I always have when running RW2 in the past. By comparison Trainz is actually fun.

As for the AI, even the staunchest supporters of RailWorks moan about its inadequacies. I can't remember the exact works, but one said that a retarded monkey could do better than the RW AI.

ahh but i drive trains for a living.....

I own RW2 and that route you have shown a piccie of "The Falmouth Branch" i believe.

nope its a pic from my own route.

despite the fact it was built using google maps.....

Trainz Multi-player is by January 2011 . What do you have to say to that?

i should care about that because.....

If Trainz is as rubbish as your making out and that you don't play it anymore then why are you trawling around this forum .... ?

to see what's going on and so i can do things like this:hehe:

Trainz has it's faults and slowly but surely Auran are making things better BUT please don't make Railworks out to be some bug free Holy grail of the train Sim world , it isn't !!

at least RW has a dedicated team working on it nearly all year round just look at all the DLC they have made this year.

And as for passengers walking up and down the platform, it looks to me like, most of then are getting on the Hogwarts special.

at least railworks has moving passengers.

sooo you all probably would like to know why i play railworks, earlier this year i bought trainz 2009 which at the time i liked a week later i bought the S&C add on so i could have some more steamers it all installed fine.....BUT i found that i could not use any of the content that came with it this i found funny as i have seen other people use it so i decided to email the help desk to see if they had an answer about 2 weeks passed and i got no replies by this point i was a bit miffed i then put out requests for help on several forums including this one and i hardly got any replies so i decided that trainz was no longer worth my time. a friend at work a fellow driver told me about this game railworks so i decided to give it ago and quite honestly i haven't looked back since.

You seem to be somewhat economical with the truth. How about a link?

But hey, at least you've got moving passengers in rw...... *ggg*

I find trainz far more addon friendly. I would hate to learn a new system of addons for railworks when I am just begining to crack trainz. I have also noticed that if you want any new stuff for Railworks, you have to pay for it. I have yet to see ANY narrow gauge content for Railworks, specifically, Colorado Narrow gauge, not European narrow gauge.

Trainz is LIGHT YEARS ahead of railworks in alternative gauges. Dual gauge, narrow gauge, broad gauge, even hobby gauge (like 7 1/2"), you can get all of it in Trainz, but not railworks

I'm not a big standard gauge guy, I like little engines, riding on rails 3 feet apart through the Colorado Rockies. Show me that for Railworks, and Maybe I'll change my mind and get it. But as far as I know, this stuff does not exist, and changes are, it won't for a long time because its a very tight nit community of Colorado Narrow Gaugers.

It sounds like you didn't alter the setting.
The choose favorit asset box should be un-ticked.
The compatability box should have been ticked.
the yellow star should have been swiched off.

But if you asked in a rude and agressive manner, we would not have helped you!

Funny you said that. I was looking at RW the other day and was appalled at the lack of content, particularly routes. So much so that I've begun a master route list, which should be done soon.

Sir Plewsy, I doubt that driving the children's mini-trains at show grounds is anywhere near as complex as driving full time on the railways.

With each post you make promoting Railworks, you lose respect, dignity and credibility.

Please stop filling up these forums with railworks nonsense.

Now be a good child and go away.

well the whole picture is special you see and here are a few reasons why...

1. we have walking people in Railworks who can get in and out of the train.

2. steam and smoke effects are a lot better than those in trainz

3. Railworks is better.....

also the beta for multiplayer in Railworks could be out by march.

1. Can be done in Trainz, too.

2. That's up for debate.

3. Again, how?

Do you have to pay for each person?? Or is it a pack??

Trainz has it's faults, no doubt about that

But

You can get a 5 year old and in 5 minutes he's built a route
Another 10 minutes and he's driving

RW is for computer geeks who have way to much time on their hands
Usually because showering is a monthly thing and shaving is a once in a lifetime event
They Don't even know what females are

Unless they are one , which waxing is a once in a lifetime event
