Railroad ENCOURAGES Graffiti taggers...

Faced with the problem of having to repaint an aging CP locomotive, Mission Terminal went a route people might not have expected. Instead of paying some rebuilding company to do it, they instead "Donated" the locomotive to act as a canvas for a local art group and encouraged Graffiti artists to have fun with the locomotive.

This has produced one of the most INTERSTING paint schemes ever, one I would kill to see in Trainz.

Quote from one of the articles (Photos to follow.)

"It’s so rare in fact, Northway thinks this might be one of the first times ever that artists have had safe and legal access to the sought-after mobile canvass of a train. When she told graffiti artists in other cities what the collective was doing, they couldn’t believe it."

“It’s an awesome way for (young artists) to experience train painting without going illegal and without having to worry about being hurt. It’s all very safe,”

Second article:

Artists were required to attend at least two days of workshops to be able to participate in the project

Note: I have contacted the group, and they're willing to send good side on photos and all around photos of the locomotive and work for me to pass off on anyone that wants to reskin an SD into this!!!

Cool. Good find.
Now if some of the Class 1 in America and Canada could do this with some of there older locos that need repainted.
It could be a win-win for both. The artists get their art on the side of a loco(legally), The railroad get the loco painted for almost free. Or at least alot cheaper.

If you can't lick 'em, join 'em. Doesn't seem to do any harm. Looks like a good idea and might even be a good public relations gimmick.

Wow it looks amazing,up I actually think that graffiti, when legal, adds some flavor to life.
and think of this when your watching the train roll by,all these tags(especially TTX in the US)can come from anywhere,1 can be from NYC and the next one from San Fran.,or from the yard just alittle while away!

Until they decide they like it and start regularly painting illegally...
