Railroad drawings/paintings

Here is the before and after versions of MORR 3391, an SD24. This is one of the first locomotives i painted and i just re-did it last night

I started drawing this a long time ago. I got this far and lost my photograph. I went back K&WVR to take more photographs and the loco was in bits :(

That your MKT painting?[/QUOTE

Yes it is. The artist was commissioned for the painting to help restore the depot in the early 90's. I picked up a print recently from a customer of mine that owns a printing company and still owns the original. The pic I posted isn't the best because of the reflection of the frame I put it in.

I like the evolution of the Coal River logo and name on those locos. They really reflect the transition from those gigantic geographical route names to a catchy memorable one.

So, the road died in 1985?

I'm sure it was bought by CSX..... otherwise, there'd be an NS Heritage Unit! :hehe:

Seriously, great job & great paintings! I second the motion.... I love the logo too, and the whole evolution of the schemes. Maybe you need to make some of these! Hell, maybe you can even use Dragonharh's BQ23-7's! (Go ahead......I opened the door!);)

I've been thinking about doing some of them, I've already done some F7s in this scheme, but in another roadname. And the RS1, well, you know... (Long story short, I combined the identities of two different lines into the CCCR&W.)

I've had a few different ideas on what eventually happened to the road, but I haven't been able to come up with something I'm entirely happy with. I'm open to suggestions, and nothing's saying it isn't still around as a regional.
