Railroad Crossing Screenshots

It's custom reskin, and luckily, I have author's permission to release it. The matter of which is all about when and where.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Joshua

Cool! I get it now: you probably reskinned that built-in Australian rural crossbuck. You did a great job on it; the drawings for the crossbuck in thge 1935 MUTCD are shaped very close to that, if not identically shape. This might even match the late 1920s AASHO/whatever manuals (I will have to check). Just to let you know, the "Stop When Swinging" sign would have probably been added after the crossbuck and stop sign were placed, for the font used on it is one of the modern FHWA Series fonts, introduced around 1945. Which might not be so unrealistic, given that the crossbuck with stop sign might have been installed before the wigwag signals were installed. ;)

Finding one of those wigwag assemblies with the even older crossbuck/stop sign configurations in modern day would be a treat to a signalfan/wigwag hunter! ;)

Regards.

Beautiful shot Zieba!

'Railroad Crossings' implies North America but since there are plenty non-US shots in the thread I assume this freelance effort will be acceptable...

Andy ;)

Nice shots everyone! I was going to use the same road you guys are using at this crossing...you know...the rough one with the cracks in the asphalt. After trying it out I thought it needed something a little different so I decided to try and make one.

Here 'tis...:)

Thanks...it's getting there. Still needs some tweakin'. We could use some more beat up funky roads...maybe with some potholes too.

Nevertheless, Fred, still quite the creation.

I'd like to see the final product. Your route goes above and beyond my expectations.

Great work!

Joshua

Thanks Joshua. When I'm satisfied with it, I'll upload it to USLW's downloads page. Now that I've figured out how to do this, I think I'll make a series of realistic, distressed roads, both paved and unpaved. Like I said, Trainz needs more funky roads... Hmmmmm...there's an idea for a song title..."Drivin' Down That Funky Road".

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. Speaking of titles...I think I'll call this one "Z Funky Road 1"...:hehe:

A crossing on one of my poorly constructed (my surveyor skills are still in their infancy) fictitious routes, a sort of combo interurban-light railroad-commuter line. Note that the third rail sticks out of the pavement where the road and track make contact haha.
