RAID 0

Having recently built my new computer:

Initially I goofed it up and the installation went as 2 drives.

I went back and properly configured the drives as a RAID 0.

Total re-installation of everything.

WOW, the difference is crazy. Even ECML stutters have been reduced to barely noticeable micro-stutters. With 2 7200 RPM drives the stutters are only a fraction of a second.

If this baby can handle ECML it can handle anything.

My new computer has the RAID system and I agree - it is lightening fast. There is also a RAID system with 4 drives. Only down side is the manual doesn't tell me much about them or how it all works.

The best raid in a sense would be a 10 or 1+0 (however the manufacturer says it, as each has a different name for it) where it is a striped array but also mirrored resulting in 4 hard drives, all with striped data but have a backup incase one fails...
We all know if a hard drive fails in a striped array...good luck booting to windows and finding any useful data!
