Quick question about blue comet/SP3

I just got Trainz 2010 and i want to DL the Blue comet pack.
My build is 42203. so do i need to DL the SP3 patch or is build 42203 SP3???

Hi

The Blue Comet will only work with SP3 (build 43434) so you will have to update to that build to install it. Depending on your computer specs and the amount of content you have installed it can take upwards of 2 hours to patch. The bar on screen will move quickly to start with but then seems to stop for a long time. It then moves very quickly to the end so don't make the mistake of thinking that it has locked up. Just leave it to complete the update in its own time.

I did download the SP3 patch but it failed when i try to install it.
A pop up came up when i last started trainz so im gona try doing that and hope for the best.

That's concerning - what error appeared when you tried to patch it?

I think it said something about patch route not specified
the auto DL is doing its thing as i tipe this msg fingers crossed.
And my comp specs are intel core2 Quad, 4gig ram and a Nvida Geforce GT220 3D card runs.

Im using windows 7
I have tryed that patch it said
File error while reading patch data.
No valid patch operation was specified.
Patching aborted.

OK - it appears that something is not right there. Are you sure you have build 42203?

As you have had a failed patch, you may have to reinstall TRS2010.

Also, make sure you are running Trainz as admin. The patch will fail if not.

Yep its build 42203
I did try uninstalling it.
but not sure if it was as admin, ill uninstall again.

Easiest way of running something as admin is to right-click it and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

To permanently set a program to run as administrator (at least until (and if) you decide to reverse the setting) do the following:

1.Right-click the file in question (it must be a program or shortcut to a program)
2.Click Properties
3.Click Compatiblity.
4.Click in the box labelled 'Run this program as an administrator' to place a tick in it.
5.Click OK.

Can do. Disable it during the patch install (if you use the manual patch, you won't need to be connected to the internet either)

well in that case should i use the patch i have allrdy downloaded or try the auto DL again with norton turned off.
because if the manual patch fails wont i have to rererereinstall the game ....... again lol

I know - patching can be a very fustrating process.

The Auto DL option is the best one to use, as it will download the best patch for your version.

If you get any different errors, post them here.
