Quick Drive - Adding Loco

Quickdrive seems interesting except I can't make it work.

I select a consist but none of them have locos installed. How do I add a locomotive to pull the darn train when in quickdrive. I have the same problem in surveyor when using CTRL-F2 to enter quickdrive. I can pull up a consist but can't add a locomotive.

Which begs the question in surveyor I'd like to be able to add just a loco to test switches, rail crossings etc but don't see anyway to do it and the expanded manual is absolutely no HELP!

In the surveyer session layer look right, press f7 then T, select a loco then go forth and check your points.

Start at Page 90 of the TS12 owners manual.

To add, you need to assign a driver to the loco as well or it will just sit there and do not a lot.

It sounds like if you try to quickdrive from a route with no consists or locomotives in it that you have to create a session to it?

Except for these built-in consists:
Passenger MN M7 EMU,<kuid:447264:1026>
Passenger MN Shoreliner,<kuid:447264:1025>
Passenger TGV SE,<kuid:414773:1019>
Passenger HST BR,<kuid:414773:1006>
Passenger HST BR Original,<kuid:447264:1049>
Passenger HST BR 1980s,<kuid:447264:1050>
Passenger HST MML,<kuid:414773:1007>

I might have missed one or two.

Anyway, you might want to consider just making a session for the route you wanne run around.
.. Or create your own consists to add to the list.

Correct. A route is just a layout with tracks, roads, etc. A session is a set of one or consists and rules that uses the route. So you can make different sessions such as a passenger session, freight session or combinations. It can be very simple or very complex as you will find out.

Hi All
As a few have noted, the built-in consists generally do not contain locomotives, however those that Oknosten has listed do have locomotives (in some form or another).

If you wish to have consists with locomotives, or add your own consists, then, you can add new consists by doing the following.

1)Please load Surveyor (you can simply load a new map if you wish - if you do, please place a length of track down first to place the trains onto).

2)Once in Surveyor and with a length of track placed, place the locomotives and/or rolling stock to form a consist (you should have only 1 green arrow and 1 red arrow at the ends of the train).

3)Now open the 'consists' menu, and select the 'get consist' tool, then click on the train. Please now name, then save, the new consist. Please note, loads are not saved to consists.

4)Repeat steps 2 and 3 to create further new consists.

5)When you have created the new consists that you want, press the 'ESC' key, and click on 'don't save' so as to not save the route.

The new consists that you created will now be available via the 'new train' menu in the 'Quick Drive' tool. To access these, either click on the 'quickdrive' button in the Routes menu, or load your previously saved session. Once loaded, please click on the 'new train' option in the QuickDrive box, then scroll down till you find the new consist that you created.

Regards
