Questions: Using KUIDs in CM and Surveyor

In trying to put together my first route, I've come up with a couple of questions on using KUIDs in CM2 and Surveyor:

1. In examining routes put together by others, it would seem helpful to click on an asset in Surveyor and see the KUID of that asset. How is this done? I seem to remember something about being able to display the KUID of the selected asset in Surveyor by changing a value in a TS2010/Surveyor configuration/set-up file. Can someone explain how this is done?

2. It's my understanding that the first part of the KUID number (the digits before the ':' identify the developer of that asset. When I find an asset I like, I'd like to identify other assets created by the same person using the first part of the KUID. Is there a way in either CM2 or Surveyor to search for an asset by the first part of the KUID (e.g. 123456:* or similar)?

Thanks.

In the search block, select 'Author' - and enter the kuid as #123456

CM2 has many ways of finding and sorting things, spend half an hour experimenting, well worth the time.

One very useful tip, whatever you drag into the Picklist in CM2 will be available to you in the search function in Surveyor.

What you want to do is add '-showkuids' in Trainzoptions.txt
