Question Regarding JR Smart Signals

For JR's Smart Signals how do you set them up to be "Smart," or do they just do it on there own?
Also, are the Jr Safetran signals considered "Smart" signals?

All JR signals are smart, as are SAXRT's trilight g style signals. After placing signal, select the "?" and click on the signal, this is how you configure your path.

So I can't configure more than this unless I use an interlocking signal?

there is no need to configure a one headed signal, the only need is two or three heads to display proper aspects for taking a diverging route.

If you stick with the general rule - 06L and 06R for left and right diverging, most of the time they're good to go straight out of the box. The only time it is absolutely necessary to beaver around in Properties is for the 08 signals.

If you find that a particular signal is showing caution (diverge) aspect even if set to straight then check that signal's Prop box.

yes, what he said. you would also need a two aspect signal before your rd or ld to display an approach mrdium ect.

they are usually 'smart' on their own.

the signal system contains a re-written and extended logic from a typical trainz signal that allows them to take into account bi-directional tracks and path aspects. if you set them up like the real world they work.
