Question regarding Driver quantity limits (TS2009 SP4)

As a result of something I've noticed during my last run of my private route, my question to those that are knowledgeable in the subject is this:

Is there a limit to how many active drivers you can have running in a session before trains start showing up as 'consist xxx' in the minimap? If there is, can it be increased?

Reason I'm asking is because after about 10 minutes, I've seen some trains appearing with 'consist xxx' rather than the driver name in the Minimap.

Any views, suggestions, or even answers are welcomed.

I know ram size limits it, can't remember if there was a number limit.

Thankyou for your response. It's given me some thoughts - I know that my version usually runs at about 600-800MB memory usage during running the session in question.

There is no hardlimit that I am aware of through the software, however your RAM can have a considerable affect on it, especially if you have a small one. It seems most likely that it turns into "Consist XXX" when your RAM is full and Trainz is having difficulty assigning running numbers...

I will have a look. The system's got 4GB RAM, so in normal Trainz use, it shouldn't be using all of that.

I've had up to about 15 drivers running nicely in TRS2004, if this helps.

After that things got weird. They'd start making up their own routes, skipping trackmarks, skipping stations, etc., even causing weird derailments.

That's a thought - as it's an intensive route, I do have quite a few drivers present (lost count of how many though).

I once tested this area, I was able to smoothly run 256 drivers simultaniously on a 10 x 2 baseboard map.
