Got some questions here, and I hope I get some good answers. Oh heck, this isn't most forums, I'll get GREAT answers. Info as to why I'm asking these will follow the questions.
1.) Is Donation based content considered payware or freeware?
2.) Would you be interested in a series of donation based routes?
3.) What would you consider to be a good donation minimum?
4.) Do you have route suggestions?
5.) If payware routes come out of it, what would you think to be an acceptable price? (I've considered this in the past with mini routes being the central theme. Small self contained routes using DLS items.)
Info:
Here's the deal guys. I'm currently homeless. You read that right. Homeless. I'm staying with a friend who supplies internet and only asks that I help pay for power, I do get assistance on food, but beyond that I don't have many things I need. In the past few weeks, after getting TS2010 again, I've started building my favorite mini routes, and started wondering if I could offer these for download with a donation optional format. Now you might wonder, what I define as a "mini" route.
A mini route was inspired by a trs2006 route I created when the ng30 content first came out. The route, called "old lucky mill" actually had close to a mile of track on only one baseboard. I played with this route more than I thought a one baseboard route would do, and eventually expanded it some into a nice three baseboard route. Over time I started thinking that this would be a good addition to another route. Maybe at the end of a siding or branch line; and yes I tried that. It looked awesome. Since then I've built a ton of other routes, but I keep going back to the mini style. Small routes with a good bit of content, but not something that's above seven or eight baseboards.
In any case, there's my questions, my info, and some background. I await the community's answers.
