Putting consists into the "Global Consist Library"

I am not sure if may be this is a bug, as it is not behaving as I would expect. Hopefuly someone can shed some light.

In surveyor I can add consists to the list displayed on the rolling stock tab, simply by using the "grab" tool on the appropriate train. All well and good. But now I look at the "Global Consist Library", and I would expect my consist to appear there. There are two lists, "MainList" and "SurveyorList", the latter containing all the built-in consists I can see on the rolling stock tab - but not my added consist, though it does say that this list is read-only. I can add to the "MainList" through the "Global Consist Library", but it is a real pain in the neck putting in rolling stock, and especially frustrating knowing that I have already got my consists into the system. Surely there should be some kind of a connection between the two?

I have looked at "Global Consist Library v2" by pguy, but the lists it uses seem to be entirely separate. It has a "SurveyorList", which is still read-only, but does include my consists. It has a "MainList", which seems to be entirely separate to the one used in "Global Consist Library", and lists created in v2 do not appear in "Global Consist Library".

Am I missing something here? Is there a better way to use the "Global Consist Library"? Is something not working properly?

Further investigation:

Entries I put into MainList do not appear in the content manager, but can be used in, say, Quick Portal Manager. On the other hand, entries I put into surveyor do appear in content manager along with the built-in consists, but cannot be seen in QPM.

The config.txt files for built-in and my own appear ro have no significant differences.

I came across a post by pguy saying QuickDrive and consistdatahandlermust be present, and the session saved and reloaded to get custom consists to be included, but this did not work for me.

Global Consist Library has been designed under TS2009 at a time where Auran/N3V had the intention to release an engineering version with no surveyor module and so there was a need of another way to create consist definition outside surveyor for QuickDrive consist placement.

So Global Consist Library manages its own consists list independantly of surveyor module and the read only surveyorlist is only a trick to enable importing surveyor consist definition into global consist library by copying consist definition from surveyorlist to one of the consist list managed by global consist library. Just now there is no way to export a global consist library consist definition back into surveyor.

Now that all TSxxx versions includes surveyor module, GCL consist editor is not so usefull and you can manage all your consist definition under surveyor and directly use them under QuickDrive or QuickPortalManager using surveyorlist which should contain all your surveyor consist definitions.

Global Consist Library V2 is an updated version of GCL V1 which supports fully consist product load definition fixing a few bugs in product load editor.
QuickDrive V2 - ConsistDataHandler V2 and QuickPortalManager V3 work with GCL V2 instead of GCL V1, but you only need to use these assets when you use product load editor.

Hope this information helps.

Thanks for the comments; I had more or less worked that out myself (mostly from previous comments by yourself). The problem is that I cannot see my surveyor created consists in surveyorlist, and so cannot import them into global consist library.

It is specifically QPM V2 I am trying to use, and here again my surveyor created consists do not appear in the surveyorlist (even after clicking on update).

I am having the same problem after using QPMV2 & V3 for some time now. When I try to edit a route session, the consists I have already assigned for the session show up in the appropriate schedule listing, but I can not add a new consist because they no longer show up in the Surveyor List option.

It seems something has changed.

Thanks for your help.
