Just filling in a couple of gaps in the local pubs, don't worry I still have a couple more in mind............
Here is the Engine in Belle Isle, Leeds.
Why a 3f (which I associate with Derby) next door to Hunslet where so many private Loco Builders built most of the worlds blooming locos is beyond me, however here is a close up!
A few weeks ago we called round at this one, and the sign was obstructed by a "For Let" sign, this has since disappeared enabling a shot of The Railway Inn , also at Belle Isle. This is about half a mile from the Leeds depot which services the Freightliner class 66s.
And on the wall of the pub itself.
Let's hope that if the pubs both get refurbished new signs appear, and they are more appropriate to the area! I seem to remember many years ago that one on these pubs, or another (maybe called "The Locomotive") had a very nice sign showing one of Mr Blenkinsops locos (you know -the one with the geared driving wheel and matching track). Can anyone help on this one, I wish that I had taken a picture!
John
And for non-drinkers here is a shot of the Freightliner servicing depot, which I think is run on their behalf by Pete Watermans' LNWR. It's a full zoom shot cause it's like Fort Knox round there!
More contributions would be most welcome! I did not venture to enter either of the latest pubs!
