Problem with TRS2006 not loading.

As suspected - Intel graphic cards do not function very well with Trainz, even with the latest drivers.

Reason for that is due to the lack of OpenGL support.

Shane

That's strange as I've not had that many problems with running Trainz.

I've got a feeling I may have to reinstall XP. :'(

Craig.

You stated you had DX10? Yet you have XP, there is no official DX10 for XP, there is an unsupported third party lashup which if you have somehow installed that may explain why your DirexctX is failing on most counts, it's probably broken your DX9.

Craig,
If you re install xp get the sp2 (service pack).
With 2006 you need build 3092 (from 2761) or I think 3337 (from ????), there are sp's for these. As said before the patches must be applied before you run trainz.

H Malc. Well according to the DirectX Diagnostic tool, I have DirectX 10. (See below).

I got it from this site: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

Hi Fran.

I have XP SP2 on a disk. I also have the SP for Trains on a dongle. :D

But I hope not to have to reinstall XP as it takes ages.

Hi Shane, it didn't work using both methods you suggest. I can't even get my PC to go in to sleep mode since I reinstalled the graphics drivers.

Looks like it's going to be a XP reinstall after all. :'(:'(:'(

May I suggest that you register your serial number now, if it is working.

Shane

Hi Shane. I have said somewhere on this forum I have registered my serial number back in 2006.

But I have changed my email address and password/username since then so cannot re-register.

I will be getting Trainz 2010 soon. ;)

Craig.

You may be able to contact the Helpdesk (if you know your old username) and see if they can transfer the serial number over - be aware that you may need to state why you want that done, as serial numbers are not normally transferable.

I did try that back in 2008 or 09. It didn't work. Not bothered about it as I said I'll be getting 2010 soon, so will stop using the 06.

If you had written down on the CD case your Email, UN & PW along with the Disc Key Code, you can get TRS2006 back up and running.

It and 04, are perfect versions for low end PC's with Integrated Graphics.
