Hi everyone.

Been trying to get TRS2006 to run this evening and every time I try I get this message.

Train.jpg

I'm playing it on a Acer Aspire 5600 and never had any problems until tonight.

Can anyone help please?

Craig.

Admin. Sorry if this post is in the wrong place.

Try open file location by clicking on the TRS2006 desktop icon ... click on the Trainz.exe icon and see if it opens Trainz... also find Trainzdiag in bin, and click that to run trainzdiag.

Perhaps your not running by ticking the desktop icon advanced preferences as administrator ?

Or your Planet Auran Profile/Password needs resetting (it can be the same password).

There are various other solutions .. and you can PM me if you need help

Hi Cascaderailroad. Thanks for replying.

I ran the Traindiag and this is what I get.

I have the most upto date drivers for my video card & DirectX 10.

I am the administrator of this PC and should have said it's running WinXP SP3.

Re-set my user name & password, no help there.

The first photo is what I get on my GF laptop as it has integrated graphics, (a poor video card) but Trainz runs pretty darn well on this laptop (a bit choppy framerates).

Is your hard drive full, or near maxed out free disc space ?

Is you options in Trainz set to 32 bit depth ?

I have mine set to Open GL ... yours may be set to DirectX, which is OK on some machines ?

Did try to open Trainz by clicking the Trainz.exe in the TRS2006 main file ?

Mine used to open with the Trainz Launcher icon ... but something receintly has changed.

This is why I make a copy of my Local file ... as eventually I end up re-installing Trainz (I must have done it 25 times, or more, transfering my Local files) lol

Seeing as the issue/problem has only just started can you recall what you may have downloaded or altered on your system.

I get this same notice after I close down Trainz, after building a route, or make additions, and or quick drive a route ... but it easily closes out when I hit "terminate" ... and when I restart trainz the route is there, along with the changes, and saved session ... so it has never really bothered me.

I assumed it all was because of the unsupport of TRS2006

Have just looked at intels driver updates, the latest for integrated graphics are dated 28-02-2008 for xp, depending what version of xp the OP has it might be worth having a look.

I could never updat my video card, as I think it is unsupported Intel OpenGL
Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family.

I always get the message: the latest drivers are already installed

Morning Fran1 & Cascaderailroad.

I'm going to reinstall TRS2006 and I shall let you know how I get on. I only have two trains to re-install, so not too bad. (apart from the service pack ;) )

Thanks for your help.

Craig.

A note regarding the service pack - if you do need to install SP1, this must be done without running Trainz first.

I would also advise registering your TRS2006 if you haven't already.

Ah - that error.

Did you follow my bit of advice in my previous post?

Also, make sure your graphics card drivers, and DirectX files are up to date.

It may be worth running TrainzDiag (in the Bin subfolder of the Trainz install folder) to see if anything comes up as Failed or Warning.

Shane

OK.

I can tell you exactly why your Trainz is not loading.

Your video card does not properly support OpenGL which is required for the game to work properly.

My guess is that you are using an Intel graphics card.

It may be possible to get the game to run by changing from OpenGL to DirectX in the Trainz Options box (clicking Options on the Launcher), but you will not be able to access Content Manager.

Shane

Well it's always used OpenGL, never had it using DirectX.

Tried using DirectX, but the same message comes up.

Craig.

I'm amazed how it's run at all.

What graphics card are you using? Graphics cards that have old drivers are less likely to be able to run Trainz. This includes the majority of Intel graphics cards.

Failing that, a reinstall of your graphics card drivers may be in order.

Shane

Well to tell the truth Shame, I have tried DirectX in the past and found no difference to OpenGL.

I have the most up to date graphics driver and it's a Intel 945GM.

Craig.

As suspected - Intel graphic cards do not function very well with Trainz, even with the latest drivers.

Reason for that is due to the lack of OpenGL support.
