Problem with point.(Turnout)

Hi chaps,
I have a teensy weensy problem with a point on one of my routes.
This particular point is just after a station, and leads into the MPD.
When an AI train is routed over this point, no problem, but when I
try to drive a train over it, despite the point being set to the ahead
position in surveyor, it decides to switch itself, so I end up I the
MPD instead of carrying straight on. This point is situated just after
another point, so I haven't got time to use the switch ahead option.
Anyone know how to make a point behave?

"Drive to", or "drive via" many named trackmarks, giving orders for AI drivers to follow an explicit path placing trackmarkers like a trail of bread crumbs.

Also placing track direction markers, against the flow of traffic can prevent wandering AI drivers.

You can name trackmarkers (for easier recollection) 1-A Yardmouth, 2-A Bahnhof , 3-A Ipswitch ... etc ... or A-1 Yardmouth, A-2 Bahnhof , A-3 Ipswitch ... etc ... them trackmarker names will be all alphabetical, or numerically in easy order to read and direct AI drivers to that location.

It can happen that a junction is reversed ie the green arrow points left but the train goes right or vice versa. It usually happens when a junction is on a curve and the diverging track crosses over very slightly before it diverges thus fooling the point motor into thinking it is going the opposite way. It can be so slight that it is virtually unnoticeable. Try running an AI train over the junction and see if the green arrow correctly indicates the direction that the train takes.

If this is the cause then you may need to relay the junction with a slightly tighter radius on the diverging track.

Did you know that just plopping down a junction lever in the center of a spline point circle is not correct ... you can click outside the rail, almost past the ties, and a lever will be laid in 2 different locations (either on the L or R track).
