hi all

i have a very strange drama
see screens below

in an earlier version of boonah rail i used the 100mm firehose on this route.
now, after getting the right dem stuff,
it will not show in game at all.

it's still on that 1 route, but will not show anywhere else

after using asset-x it co,es up with the below

any ideas what i can do to fx this?

there are no other hoses or fire hoses on the black dls

thanks ron

Hi misterchugg,

I had that exact same error on a single track bridge, I tried many things to fix it but in the end just changing the trainz-build tag to 1.5 fixed it. Looks like it would be worth a try, if that does not work you can always put it back to 3.3 again.

Cheers,

Thanks for displaying your CM screen. It appears that you've been fiddling with the config.txt of this asset and arbitrarily changed the trainz-build number from the original 2.4 to 3.3. That's a no-no. I suggest you install the asset again from the original CDP or download and see if you have the same problem. Notice also that the other industrial hoses don't have errors, so maybe compare their configs to that of the fire hose and see what's different, it might give you a clue about what is causing the problem.

hi mate
done that already late last night
but no go
even the original wont show.
did for one route, then vanished
the other 3 never showed at all

any ideas as to what could be causing this?
thanks
ron

I'm looking at the same kuid in my copy of CM3.3 and it is not showing any errors (same as all my other hoses).

I double-checked that it shows up in TS2010 (native mode)...and it does for me. But read on...

By changing the trainz-build to 3.3, I was able to produce errors - several regarding obsolete tags (not surprising since this is a 2.4 asset) and one about the unexpected number of track offsets (the same error you're getting). I deleted that faulty copy and imported a fresh copy from a CDP and it installed error-free as a trainz-build 2.4 asset. So putting all that together, I'd say there's nothing fundamentally wrong with the asset but if you go changing the trainz-build you can expect trouble from TS2010.

These are very versatile assets, because they are so realistic and very bendy. They can be used for other purposes.

I’ve used them as conduits along trackside walls and even as a securing cable for helicopters dangling payloads.

As such, they are often airborne assets which can be difficult to locate if some of the “attached” assets have been deleted.

Could yours be floating around somewhere?

hi mates

i deleted all 4 of them and re-installed.
still nothing

then i found the invisible and deleted it
i got it from the dls again and instaklled it
and now i have all 4 showing

something must have been wrong with the invisible part of these

thanks for helping

Yeah, if you made the same changes to its config as you did to the others, then it was probably also the trainz-build number that was causing this. Notice how misleading and unhelpful CM's error messages are? If you have a faulty asset and it has dependencies, it's always worth looking for errors in the dependencies (and their dependencies if they have any). The error might be way down the bottom of the food chain, but CM doesn't tell you that explicitly

hi mate

yep, i've seen that time and time again
n3v dont bother with stuff like that
all they want is for us to buy new versions
nuts to that
i'm staying with this one for a long time,
especially after having so many dramas to get the stuff running

thanks for the help
