Problem with built in item BI Fuel kuid2:30671:27206:2

I downloaded Driver_Col's Gwladys Ddu late GWR together with the sessions for TS12 SP1 and one of the vehicles showed BI Fuel as a missing dependency kuid2:30671:27206:1. It showed as update available so I tried to download this but nothing happened. I knew I had this item in TS12 49922 so I created a CDP and dropped this into 61388. When I checked for open to edit items this showed up as built in and wouldn't let me revert to the original it just shows as faulty - unable to commit.
Has anybody any ideas how to correct this problem.

Thanks

Change the kuid of the Bi fuel in the wagon to kuid2:30671:27206:2 it's in three places. the :2 version is the builtin and solves the problem.

That's the problem it will not let me revert to original, and I do not know how to get rid of the item I dropped in as it was the 49922 non built in version of BI Fuel which apparently has become a built in item with 61388.

Hi Ken - What is the kuid of the wagon in question? Regards. Colin.

ps. As both 30671:27206:1 & :2 are on DLS............. maybe you could manual download the one that is supposedly missing?

Version 1 won't download as the builtin version 2 obsoletes it.
The config of kuid2:217096:10022520:1 7 Plank Welsh Navigation wagon 2012, one of Bob Sander items, is looking for version 1.
Changing to the base version doesn't work as that is not on the DLS and anyway the builtin obsoletes all previous versions.
Changing the Wagon's config to use version 2 the builtin got things working. There was no need to download anything. Why it wasn't using the builtin anyway must be some sort of bug with TS12 or possibly due to not having the original on the DLS causing a problem with the obsoleting / using the newest version. It's definitely an odd one, don't think anyone has actually done anything wrong!

It's working perfectly well here with version 2 in the wagon config.

@Driver_Col
As Malc stated kuid2:217096:10022520:1 7 Plank Welsh Navigation wagon 2012 was the item that needed the early version. In addition I have eight other wagons that are in error looking for a 480x300.tga that cannot be found therefore I will not be able to run that particular session.
Are the 3.6 versions the equivilent of the 3.7 versions, if so I will use those instead.

@Malc
When I saw that there was a missing dependancy I had the original showing as Update Available NOT Obsolete I tried to download the later version but this could not be found on the DLS, as I knew I had this in 49922 I merely installed it into 61388 until this time it did show as built in, if it had the original would have shown as Obsolete.
Is there any way I can remove the BI Fuel I installed to free up the built in item or have I just corrupted this kuid.

Hi Ken: It would appear that Routes & Sessions created in 61388 won't work in earlier versions of TS12 ..... but that does not make much sense to me. I had many errors (and still do after a repair session) which magically disappear when I click the display errors tab. i.e. It cannot find errors and so changes the status icon! Go figure! Regards. Colin.

Ken, the errors with images in the Wagons, forgot I'd fixed them! I'm so used to patching stuff up I've downloaded and do these things so often I just operate on auto pilot! It's just a case of delete the config entries for those images, which don't exist anyway.

Is that builtin now stuck as open for edit and not actually in the editing folder?

Hi Malc
Yes it's stuck as open for edit, I cannot revert or commit.

OK I think I have a solution, I've just managed to replicate your problem and now have a locked BI Fuel that won't revert commit or anything else, going to take a bit of time though.
So,
Part 1: I have closed TS12, renamed the UserData Packages Folder as packages_bak, restarted TS12 and run a QDR, took about 15 minutes here on a normal drive and all the DLC has been removed. So far so good, the builtin has now cleared, in fact I could download version1 and version2 from the DLS, anyway I have deleted them for the moment.

Part 2: Close CM again and rename the packages_bak folder to packages, start CM and again run a QDR, it's added all the DLC back again, obviously it's now going to take longer as it's going to have to validate all the DLC. That has now restored everything to normal.

The original fix on the wagons should now be OK. I have a few installs I can mess with so nothing lost if that hadn't worked, however it did.

Thanks Malc, I will carry out that procedure first thing tomorrow morning. I thought you'd have a solution.
I will then be able to fix those wagons and try out Colin's route and sessions.

Thanks

Ken

Hi Malc
Repaired database as the above instructions. Have now also repaired all vehicles and am looking forward to running Col's sessions. Incidentally I repaired the vehicles by simply creating a blank 400x300.jpg and adding this to the main directory. I think this would be preferable to editing the config file for new users.

Thanks for your help.
