Quite a few games will do similar, lock up or crash, Morrowind and Skyrim are 2 of some games I remember. Log out of the game if checking something else.
I thought it was over, but now it's happening again!!! I tried changing from GL to DirectX and vice-versa, but for some reason, both didn't work!! Can someone please help me out?!
Try running in a window. Set the resolution to be the same as your monitor. The only difference is you'll see a title bar at the top and you'll be able to click on email, the web, and other things too without interrupting the game. Like I said, avoid really graphics intensive programs because they can cause the game to crash due to the computer running out of resources and your video card running out of memory space.
Unfortunately for me, I can't I have to run Windowed because of resolution changes and event lockups. Actually N3V also doesn't support Full Screen mode and multitasking to other Windows Apps, YMMV.
