Problem Launching Trainz

Hi I have trainz 2006 and just starting this evening there is a problem. When I try to launch trainz or cmp this pops up in a box. ! Critical Shutdown ...

That's strange. I normally get that when I do something on Trainz it doesn't like, such as undoing several actions in surveyor. Well, did you just install SP1? if so, that might be the problem. When you install SP1 you need to uninstall Trainz first, reinstall it, and then install SP1 before you run trainz. I'm probably far from the circumstances surrounding this but I hope I'm close.

EDIT: If you're running Vista, set the security on the auran folder to full access. Maybe that'll solve things.

I didn't install sp1. I think my version came with it.

Might be a video problem. Try -intro=disable in the trainz options file.

It happened just after I installed the TPR CP SD40-2F. I tried deleting it, but that didn't work.

Would compacting the files in the trs2006 folder work?

try rebuilding the asset database.

In your TRS2006 folder delete the assets.tds and assets.bku files then try launching TRS. if TRS starts to launch it will take it a while (especially if you have alot oc custom content) because it has to rebuild the database. So go make a sandwich or something while its doing that. Oh and it might appear to be frozen; it isn't
