problem installing some content

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem. Every month I copy all the hash files from the TRAINZ program to disks. I had to install a new, much larger hard drive in my computer and reinstalled the TRAINZ program. Upon reinstalling all the hash files I kept getting the following message: FAILED To commit changes to asset KUID:XXXXXXXXX due to file access error. Not every install did this but over 1200 out of over 37K+. They were working in the old install. I also had no missing items in any of the layouts I had on the computer as I found what I could via internet. Now several of thest layouts show missing content a so some of the roling stock. I installed all updates and the program now is BUILD 49933. Even if I download files from the STATION, I still get the message sometimes. Any idea other than deleting the program and reinstall it? That would be a lot of work.:(

There are a couple of things I can think of that may cause this.

It could be is Windows permissions. Ensure you have installed and are running Trainz as Administrator. Running Trainz as Admin gives the program full permission to read and write to the folders where it needs to. I'd place a bet on this first before thinking the worst and other possibility that the drive you are attempting to read is failing.

Also, copying files back from a CD-ROM or DVD may leave each file as Read-Only. You may have to right click the "local" and "original" folders (where you copied your hash files to) under your hard drive Trainz installation, choose "Properties", and uncheck the "Read-only" attribute. Click "OK". On the next dialog, be sure to tell it to "Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files" and click OK again.
